ANDROID MOBILE FATIGUE DETECTION SYSTEM FOR DRIVERS
Drowsy driving is a serious problem in road traffic accidents. It can end with a loss of a life. This project looks at the drowsy driving topic and how the numbers of victims can be reduced with the use of current technology and the field of computer vision. It uses Android mobile device and the OpenCV library to create a fatigue detection system for a mobile application.
The application detects with the use of detection cascades and OpenCV functions, if a person is fatigued, by the state of eyes. If the eye becomes closed, an alarm is triggered which should wake up the driver. The driver has 10 seconds to turn off the alarm, otherwise an information message is sent to an emergency contact with the location, that the driver might be in danger.
